The 2008 Brighton Festival saw the launch of a fantastic new 'Goes Pop!' show from international tribute star Suspiciously Elvis.
The idea sprung from the extraordinary success of Suspiciously Elvis' appearance with his band on BBC4's 'Pop, What Is It Good For?' in January 08. The critically acclaimed programme is the brainchild of music guru and Elvis fan Paul Morley who judged a pop song great if it sounded right sung by the King!
Morley, who also presented the programme, asked Suspiciously Elvis and his band to give among others Kylie's 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head', T-Rex's 'Ride A White Swan' and The Kinks' 'Lola' the king treatment.
Following the broadcast Suspiciously Elvis' web site, and chat boards across the net, were inundated with emails from BBC viewers asking where they could hear these numbers performed live, and thus 'Suspiciously Elvis Goes Pop!' was conceived as a full show.
